What Is Please Remember to Rewind?
On the surface, Please Remember To Rewind is a nostalgia newsletter that’s all about pop culture from the ‘80s, ‘90s, and ‘00s. Sometimes a little later, but that’s basically the time period we’re scouring. There’s a lot of good stuff in there.
Beneath the surface, this is a fun little experiment of mine. As an ‘80s kid, I often find myself revisiting old movies instead of watching new releases. I like researching the history behind games, toys, films, and events and trying to find the hidden nuggets of knowledge that may not be as readily known. Have you ever caught yourself Googling a product or movie after not seeing it for many years? Looking to unearth some fun bits of trivia? If so, then you know what I’m talking about. If not, this is what we’re going to do for you.
We’re a small team that shares a passion for trivia, knowledge, and nostalgia. Our goal is to take you back to a time that was much simpler and less serious. To help you revisit joyful memories from your childhood and adolescence.
Each week we’re going to dive into one topic and bring to you some trivia about it that you’ve hopefully never heard before — stuff that you can’t find through a quick Google search. From iconic movies, TV shows, toys, and games to the brands and trends you thought you had forgotten about, every throwback is an opportunity to dive deeper into a pop culture touchstone. We’re going to try to be detailed, but simple. We don’t like long blocks of text, and we’re going to try to keep it to a minimum.
And to top it off, with each post/newsletter, I’ll also whip up a fun little illustration to go with it. Another fun hobby of mine, and I felt this was a good place to add some color and originality to the posts. I hope you enjoy it.
